Based on the best-selling memoir by Mitch Albom, the play Tuesdays with Morrie is a poignant, two-character drama that explores the relationship between Mitch, a career-driven sports journalist, and Morrie Schwartz, his former college professor who is dying from ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).
Sharon, a recently divorced, somewhat sheltered woman in Iowa City, is looking for a roommate to fill the silence of her empty house and help with the bills. She finds Robyn, a mysterious woman from the Bronx who is looking to escape her past and reinvent herself in the quiet Midwest.
Summary:
One afternoon, Anthony arrives unexpectedly at classmate Caroline’s door bearing a beat-up copy of Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass, an urgent assignment from their English teacher. Homebound due to illness, Caroline hasn’t been to school in months, but she is as quick and sardonic as Anthony is athletic, sensitive, and popular. As these two let down their guards and share their secrets, this seemingly mundane poetry project unlocks a much deeper mystery that has brought them together. "I and You" is an ode to youth, life, love, and the strange beauty of human connectedness.
